In recognition for his exceptional leadership at eStar Truck and Van, as well as his tireless efforts to raise standards in the commercial vehicle community spanning a 40 year career, Managing Director Steve Bridge has won the Outstanding Achievement honour at the Motor Trader Commercial Industry Awards.
The Awards, held last night (22nd April) at the The Vox in Birmingham, recognised Steve’s remarkable performance in completely rebuilding the market area franchise that eStar has for Mercedes-Benz Vans and Daimler Truck in the North West and North Wales.
eStar was formed in September 2020 after the previous market area partner went into administration. Steve took on the role of Managing Director at eStar in February 2021, following a 20 year tenure at Mercedes-Benz Vans, and had to build a new culture, processes, and regain the trust of both the colleagues and customers.
The Outstanding Achievement award reflects Steve’s relentless focus on creating the best version of a dealer there can be in the industry, which has resulted in eStar being recognised for almost 75 awards since 2021.
Steve said: “To be recognised in this way by the judges for the Motor Trader Commercial Industry Outstanding Achievement award feels incredibly humbling and shows that as a dealer, we can make a big impact on the community in which we serve, and lead by example.
“However, it feels important to say that I didn’t just do this on my own, and in fact to win awards like this, you need to recruit, build and gain respect from your team. I always liken it to being a football manager – I don’t score any goals myself, but I choose and build the squad to deliver the tactics and strategy. It’s a privilege to have been in this industry for so long, and I’m fortunate to have worked with some of the best.”

In addition to Steve’s recognition, eStar was also honoured with the Commercial Vehicle Dealer of the Year award, for a second consecutive year, with judges commenting that eStar stood out for exceptional sales growth in a declining market, invested in our Skelmersdale and Trafford Park facilities, a 98% MOT pass rate, and a Top 50 employee culture recognition, which made eStar standout winners.
eStar was also Highly Commended in the Employer of the Year category.
