eStar Truck & Van has delivered its largest-ever single order of Mercedes-Benz Actros ProCabins to Woodsides – a milestone not only for eStar, but also the largest ProCabin order in Woodsides’ history.
While the fleet of 15 2451 6x2 tractor units represents a significant investment in premium vehicles, the story behind this delivery is about more than specification. It is about partnership, people, and redefining what a truck handover experience can and should be.
From the outset, eStar’s objective was clear: to create an environment that reflected Woodsides’ standing as one of the most respected operators in the industry, and to support them in delivering something genuinely special for their drivers.
Rather than a traditional key handover, eStar designed and hosted a dedicated Saturday celebration event as part of Woodsides’ onboarding process – an initiative originally conceived by eStar and embraced by Robert Woodside, Managing Director at Woodsides. Robert’s vision was to make the day feel like a “new car day” for every driver, setting a new tone and narrative for the future.
Together, eStar and Woodsides transformed what is typically a logistical exercise into a memorable experience. Drivers were welcomed into eStar’s Knowsley facilities for a full hospitality event, complete with food, product walkarounds, facility tours, and hands-on training.
The vehicles themselves, finished in Woodsides’ iconic colours, feature premium ProCabin specification, including leather interiors and LED headlights, as well as hydrapacks supplied by Gardner Denver, and bespoke interior enhancements from Kuda including rear lockers, microwaves, televisions and tank safes. Each unit is backed by a five-year Repair and Maintenance contract, serviced nationally across the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Dealer Network.
Steve Bridge, Managing Director at eStar, said: “I acknowledge that the trucks could have been purchased from other dealer groups, so this wasn’t just about supplying vehicles; it was about helping Woodsides shape a moment. The handover day became part of their cultural message to drivers, demonstrating investment, respect, and ambition. We’re incredibly grateful to Robert and his team for trusting us to play a part in that.”
The deal was managed by Ryan Lockett, Fleet Truck Sales Consultant at eStar, who added: “By elevating the handover into a celebration, we reinforced our belief that modern truck supply is about experience as much as equipment. Supporting customers beyond the transaction, through onboarding, engagement, and driver-focused initiatives, is central to eStar’s philosophy.”
For Woodsides, the day marked more than fleet renewal. It marked a commitment to raising standards and recognising the professionals behind the wheel. Robert Woodside, Managing Director, concluded: “We value our drivers and wanted to provide them with the highest level of comfort and safety with these 15 Actros ProCabin units. But we also wanted to provide them with the handover experience that they deserved, so that we could all start as we mean to go on, and show our drivers just how valued they are at Woodsides. Working with Ryan to create this bespoke event bought this to life, and delivered a real ‘wow’ factor.”
