Parts Advisor - Stoke
Job Description
Due to an internal promotion, we now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced commercial vehicle Parts Advisor to join the team here at our Mercedes-Benz dealership located in Stoke!
As a Parts Advisor you will be responsible for receiving all parts orders and ensuring they are accurately and promptly picked and despatched. You will also use your technical expertise and product knowledge to provide a first-class service by interpreting customer requirements, providing advice and locating items through various methods as required.
We are looking for someone who enjoys speaking to a range of external and internal customers and has previous experience in commercial parts and stock control.
Package Details:
- £25,396 per annum
- Based onsite in Stoke
- 40 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, with Saturdays on a rota basis
- 05:30 - 14:00
- 23 days’ holiday each year, plus bank holidays

Key Purpose of the Job:
- To receive all parts orders and ensure that they are accurately and promptly picked and despatched
- To ensure that all company policies and procedures applicable to their area of responsibility are adhered to at all times
Accountabilities:
- Receive all parts orders, interpreting customer requirements and giving advice on any additional requirements or prices
- Match orders against stock items and advising customer of any items which are not stocked or need ordering
- Locate unavailable items from other suppliers and arrange for delivery or pass order to stock control for Vehicle Off Road (V.O.R.) orders to be raised
- Make up customer orders for despatch as required ensuring that they match customer order and that any shortages are highlighted
- Ensure all orders taken are fully completed, invoiced and despatched as scheduled and that the customer is kept fully informed of progress or of any problems
- Ensure that the image and levels of customer service within the department is in line with company standards
- Ensure that all customer complaints are dealt with both speedily and effectively
- Ensure that within their area of operation all Company and Trade Associations policies, procedures and minimum standards are met and that all statutory requirements including trading standards, fire, health and safety are adhered to
- Handle all internal and external customers and suppliers with courtesy and ensure the Mercedes-Benz experience is delivered at all times
Skills and Competencies Required:
- Good telephone answering/interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure
- Extensive previous parts department/stock control experience in the commercial vehicle industry
- Previous experience with Mercedes-Benz products an advantage
- Enthusiasm to deliver the Mercedes-Benz customer experience
- Good administration skills/organisation skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Flexible approach to work and adaptable to thrive in a changing environment
- IT literate
