eStar Celebrates Stellar Success at What Van? Awards
eStar Truck and Van celebrated a double win at the What Van? Awards, held yesterday at the Hilton London Bankside hotel, scooping the top honour of Dealer of the Year, and a prestigious Hall of Fame induction for Caroline Burnell, eStar’s Head of Marketing & Communications.
The Dealer of the Year award recognises eStar’s customer service levels, commitment to electric vehicle education, and dedication to excellence in the sector. As a relatively young dealer, established just four years ago, eStar's rapid rise to industry leadership underscores its commitment to redefining the customer experience.
Caroline Burnell's induction into the Hall of Fame highlights her outstanding contributions to the commercial vehicle industry, particularly in raising awareness of mental health issues within the sector and championing the role of women in an industry traditionally dominated by men. Through her advocacy and initiatives, Caroline has fostered a culture of inclusivity and wellbeing, inspiring positive change across her 20 years in the LCV sector.
Caroline joins eStar’s Managing Director, Steve Bridge, in the What Van? Hall of Fame, as Steve was previously inducted in 2019.
Speaking on the double win, Steve Bridge, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be recognised as Dealer of the Year and for Caroline to receive the Hall of Fame honour. These awards reflect the hard work, passion, and commitment of the entire eStar team, and we couldn't be prouder of our journey so far.”
The What Van? Awards showcases brands, businesses and organisations that have reached the pinnacle of their fields. They are judged by an experienced panel of independent judges across the light commercial vehicle sector.
Sharing the judges’ thoughts, James Dallas, Editor of What Van?, added: “eStar has built its success on creating a supportive environment for its employees, who puts customers at the heart of its business.”
Reflecting on the Hall of Fame accolade, James commented: “Caroline is widely appreciated within the light commercial vehicle industry for her kindness, generosity and professionalism. For her it is more like a community or a family.
“While working for Mercedes-Benz, Caroline commissioned the brand’s Business Barometer survey, which highlighted mental health issues facing workers in the van business, a topic rarely covered previously but which has since been taken up by other manufacturers.
“For her tireless work in promoting the role of women in the LCV sector and for raising awareness of mental health issues and supporting wellbeing campaigns, Caroline is a worthy inductee into the What Van? Hall of Fame.”
